Category 1: Motorcycle Driving License

The minimum age requirement for a motorcycle driving license course is 17 years.

It is the first category in UAE driving license categories list. To obtain this license, you must have an eye test and a medical checkup at an approved health center and complete the Motorcycle Driving Course with an accredited driving school.

This license allows you to drive a two- or three-wheeled motorcycle. Obtaining a motorcycle driving license can be an intimidating experience – but with the right mentorship, it doesn’t have to be!

Category 3: Light Motor Vehicle Driving License

This license allows you to drive light vehicles such as cars, pickups, and vans. You must pass the Light Motor Vehicle Driving Course at an approved driving school to obtain this license.

From the most economical sedans to luxury vehicles, category 3: light motor vehicle driving license covers them all! You can obtain a category 3: light motor vehicle driving license if you successfully pass the written and practical exams. Depending on your age, additional restrictions may exist, so you must be familiar with all rules before obtaining your license.

Category 4: Heavy Truck Driving License

To be eligible to apply for a Heavy Truck driving license, applicants must be at least 20 years old.

This license is required for those who operate heavy trucks in the UAE. You must complete the Heavy Truck Driving Course with an accredited driving school and pass the written exam. You will also need an eye test and medical checkup at an approved health center.

You need to be at least 21 years old and have adequate knowledge of defensive driving techniques, basic mechanics, and safety regulations in order to qualify for this type of license. 

Category 6: Heavy Bus Driving License

Applicants must be a minimum of 21 years of age to be eligible to apply for a Heavy Bus driving license.

This license is necessary for those who wish to operate a heavy bus in the UAE. You can transport many passengers safely and efficiently with a heavy bus driving license. 

If you want to drive larger buses, such as the double-deckers used in public transport, you need a category 6: heavy bus driving license. This type of license requires more training and experience than the other categories. It is only available to those who have passed both written and practical tests and have at least three years of driving experience.

Category 7: Forklift Driving License

The minimum age limit to apply for a Forklift driving license is 20 years.
