There are 4 nol Cards types: nol Silver Card, nol Gold Card, nol Blue Card, and nol Red Ticket. 

nol Silver Card

This card is the perfect starter card for travelers. With an e-purse that can hold up to AED 1000, travelers can enjoy the convenience of paying for their trips without worrying about carrying cash. The card is available for a low price of AED 25 (including AED 19 e-purse value) and can be used immediately after purchase. 

  • The card is valid for five years.
  • It can be used on all modes of transport, public parks, Etihad Museum, and 2000+ shops across Dubai.
  • The cost of the trip is automatically calculated and deducted from the balance.

nol Gold Card

This card offers the same features as the Silver Card but with the added advantage of privileged access to Metro’s Gold Class seats for a premium fare. The card is available for a low price of AED 25 (including AED 19 e-purse value) and can be used immediately after purchase.

  • The card is valid for five years.
  •  It can be used on all modes of transport, public parks, Etihad Museum, and 2000+ shops across Dubai. 
  • The cost of the trip is automatically calculated and deducted from the balance.
  • Regular fares are charged when used on modes of transport without Gold Class cabins.

nol Blue Card

This card is secure and personalized, making it a excellent choice for regular travelers. With an e-purse that can hold up to AED 5000, travelers can enjoy the convenience of paying for their trips without having to worry about carrying cash. The card is available for a low price of AED 70 (including AED 20 e-purse value) and can be used immediately after purchase. 

  • The card is valid for all modes of transport, public parks, Etihad Museum, and 2000+ shops across Dubai.
  • The card also offers a variety of secure online services and SMS/email notifications to keep travelers informed.
  • The cost of the trip is automatically calculated and deducted from the balance.
  • Students, senior citizens, and people of determination can enjoy special fares with the nol Blue Card.

nol Red Ticket

This ticket is designed for occasional travelers and is a paper-based ticket that can be bought from any ticket vending machine at any time for a low price of AED 2. 

  • The ticket can be loaded with up to 10 single trips and can be used on the Metro, Tram, and Buses, making it a convenient option for travelers who only need to travel occasionally. 
  • The trip cost is paid exactly, with no need to carry a balance.
  • It can be bought from any ticket vending machine at any time.

Online nol Card Recharge

There are two ways to recharge your nol card online:

Top Up on the RTA website

The first method is to visit the Top Up nol Card feature on the RTA website. To recharge your card, provide your nol tag ID and email address and top up with the desired amount. Please keep in mind the following points:

  • The minimum card balance is 7.5 AED.
  • The maximum top-up amount is 1,000 AED for an anonymous card and 5,000 AED after registration.
  • To activate the pending top-up, use your card in any online parking meter, metro gate, or Solar Top-up Machine after 45 minutes to 4 hours to update your card balance.

Use the nol App

The second method is downloading the nol app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and tapping on the Top Up button to recharge your card.

Balance Check of nol Card

Keeping track of your nol card balance is easy and convenient. You can easily check your balance at any time by following the following methods:

Method 1: Website Check Visit the RTA website (rta.ae) and select the nol card balance check option. You must provide your nol card number, and the website will display your current balance.

Method 2: Mobile App Check Another convenient way to check your nol card balance is through the nol app, available for download on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Open the app and select the balance check option to view your current balance.

Method 3: In-Station Check You can also check your nol card balance at any metro station by inserting your card into a card reader. The display screen will show your current balance and any recent transactions.

By regularly checking your nol card balance, you can always ensure that you have enough funds to pay for your trips and avoid any potential inconvenience.

nol Card Lost

f you lose your nol card, it is important to take immediate action to prevent unauthorized use of your card balance. Here are the steps you can follow in case of a lost nol card:

  1. Report the loss of your card to the RTA customer service center. You can do this by calling 8009090 or visiting any of the customer service centers in Dubai.
  2. Provide the customer service representative with the nol card number so the card can be blocked and the balance protected.
  3. Request a replacement card by providing your personal information and paying a nominal fee. The fee may vary based on the type of nol card you have.
  4. Once you receive the replacement card, you can transfer the remaining balance from the lost card to the new one by visiting any RTA customer service center or Solar Top-up Machine.
  5. Make sure to update your personal information and registered email address with the RTA to ensure a smooth and efficient process in case of future incidents.

Refund nol Cards Balance

If you hold a nol Card or a valid Travel Pass, you are eligible to receive a refund for your balance. 

Required Documents

Receiving a refund for your nol Card balance requires you to provide key information, including 

  • Your nol Card Tag ID and mobile number. 
  • Additionally, if you request a balance transfer to a new or alternative nol Card, you will need to provide information about that card.

Service fees 

There are a few different types of refunds available for nol Cards, each with its own service fees. A cash refund will come with a fee of 2.5% or 5 AED, whichever is higher. 

However, a balance transfer to a new or alternative nol Card will come with no service fees. Overcharge refunds, on the other hand, are free of charge.

Process Time 

The processing time for a refund request can take up to 4 days from the date of application. Overcharge refund requests may take up to 3 days to process or up to 7 days if further verification is needed.
