However, you must ensure that your German driver’s license remains valid.

Age Limit for Driving in Dubai

The minimum age for driving in Dubai is 18 years old. If you are below 18, you cannot legally drive in Dubai, even if you have a valid driver’s license from Germany.

Rules and Regulations of Driving in Dubai

Driving in Dubai is different from driving in Germany, and you need to be aware of the rules and regulations of the road.

Dubai follows a zero-tolerance policy towards driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Using a mobile phone while driving is also illegal, and you may be fined if caught.

Additionally, you must always wear your seatbelt while driving, and children under 10 years old must be seated in a back car seat.

Rental Car Requirements

If you plan to rent a car in Dubai, you must ensure that you meet the rental requirements. Most car rental companies require you to be at least 21 years old to rent a car, and some even require you to be 25 years old. You also need to have a valid credit card and provide a copy of your driver’s license.

Road Safety Tips

While driving in Dubai, you must be cautious and follow road safety tips. Dubai has a high accident rate, and you must drive defensively to avoid accidents. Avoid driving during rush hours, especially on Sheikh Zayed Road, the busiest road in Dubai.

Additionally, ensure you have a GPS or map to navigate the city.

In conclusion, driving in Dubai with a German driver’s license is allowed, and you do not need an international driver’s license or a temporary local driver’s license.

However, you need to be aware of the rules and regulations of the road in Dubai and follow road safety tips to avoid accidents.
